The German Cancer Society (DKG) certifies centres that meet quality requirements; you can find them on OncoMAP. Some of the largest centres are called “Comprehensive Cancer Centers”. Statutory insurance gives wide choice of hospital.

Universitätsklinikum: complex treatment.

Certified centre: DKG.

Praxis: outpatient care.

03Scientific explanation

Shared care: a centre and a regional hospital often work together.
