About LEUKEMIA.WORLD
A trilingual, plain-language guide to leukemia for patients and the people close to them, based on reputable sources.
From the author
I created this site based on the information I have studied. It is a guide for people who have faced leukemia and infections. All treatment decisions are made only by your doctor.
Who runs this site?
LEUKEMIA.WORLD is an independent patient-information project. It was created and is run by Jafarov Kamal. The project is not affiliated with any hospital, pharmaceutical company or government body.
Why does it exist?
People who have just heard the diagnosis, and their families, often face scattered information — written in other languages, sometimes frightening or misleading. Clear and reliable material about leukemia is especially scarce in Azerbaijani.
Our aim is simple: to give patients and their loved ones clear, honest and well-sourced information in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Understanding the disease makes it less frightening and helps you prepare for conversations with your doctor.
What you will find here
The content is organised into 13 sections: from the basics — the cell, the bone marrow and blood formation — to diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, emotional support and life after treatment. Every topic follows the same structure:
- a short answer and a simple explanation;
- a scientific explanation and a “What happens in the body?” section;
- key terms, key points and frequently asked questions;
- a list of the reputable sources used and the date of the last update.
What this site is not
LEUKEMIA.WORLD is not a medical service: we do not diagnose and we do not give personal treatment advice. The site does not replace your doctor or your hematology team. More: Medical disclaimer.
How the content is prepared
Articles are based on material from recognised bodies such as NCI, ACS, WHO and NHS, and on the scientific literature. The content is based on reputable medical sources listed under each article, does not replace a doctor, and the editors welcome review and corrections from practising clinicians through the Contact page. More: Editorial policy.
Funding and advertising
The site is free to read. To cover hosting and development costs it may display advertising (for example, through Google AdSense). Advertising never influences the content, advertised products are not our recommendations, and ads are clearly separated from articles. More: Privacy policy.
